A great little engine
I bought this engine & I'm really impressed with it so I just had to buy the turbo and the stand too, together the whole thing looks really cool but even on it's own it looks great, it's a far cry from the previous oil thirsty D6, it's a 16v high performance job with more refinements than the previous D6 version it starts easily & runs really smoothly as well as sounding really good, the only little problem I could find is that the flow of oil into the filter goes the wrong way, the oil flows through the centre & exits through the side this means that any dirt or debris could block the filter internally & impede or restrict the flow so I changed the oil pipe on the top of the turbo from black rubber to clear tygon, this way I can see the oil flowing from the turbo to the top cover so I know that the oil is circulating correctly, one point I need to mention is that the oil filter is a very tight fit & if you want to remove it it will almost certainly get damaged so buy a spare & when you fit it don't tap it in fully just enough to hold it in place or file the brass ring slightly so that it can be pushed in & pulled out easily. Another good idea is to fit a small coolant expansion tank as when the engine gets hot the coolant will expand & could cause the rubber hoses to swell or detach, an expansion tank also eliminates the possibility of air locks in the engine block.
